A Japanese Wooden Three Case Inro - late Meiji/Taisho
A very fine early 20th century wooden inro complete with netsuke and ojime. This is a lovely three case wooden inro - the wood appears to be highly polished rosewood. It is decorated in a gold makie relief design of a goose flying over lake grasses on one side - just the grasses on the reverse.

The ojime is a cube shaped goldstone piece 3/8" per side. The netsuke is am extremely well carved wooden lotus pod- possibly ebony - complete with stem and some movable seeds. The netsuke is rendered in great detail. The overall suite is a great example of late Meiji to Taisho work, circa 1910-1920s. It is in fine condition with no chips or cracks - just some fine surface scratches from wear.
