Very fine antique gilded sterling and carved netsuke letter opener from Bensabott, Chicago. Decorative engravings on the blade with a beautifully carved ivory figure of a man serving as the handle. The underside is marked "Bensabott Sterling". Bensabott, an exclusive Oriental jewelry and art shop opened in the late 1800's. This piece dates to the first quarter of the 20th Century.
