A fine carved red lacquer round box decorated with two scholars seated at a gaming table accompanied by an attendant amidst a rocky landscape set against a geometric background, surrounded by a band of key fret, geometric designs at the sides, the vessel supported on a raised foot rim with recessed base. 1780-1860. 6.5 inches diameter. Condition: Age appropriate cracks and chips. |
