Ahtique handpainted french miniature watercolor painting of a lady under glass with maple frame, c. 1860. I believe it is painted on ivory or bone. The lady is lovely with bright colors and beautiful eyes. The frame measures alittle over 4" long and a little under 4" wide. The glass opening measures about 2.25" long and under 2" wide. It has a hanger for easy hanging. I could find nothing wrong with it.
Beautiful framed watercolor found in southern France with the familiar provence colors. The painting is a french cottage in the countryside with a bridge right on the water. The frame is a terra cotta color with fading of color and some cracks. It has a glass covering. Sorry about the glare in the photos. It measures about 14" wide and 12.25" high. It is signed what I think is J. Tolic. I think this dates to the 1930-40's. A beautiful painting!

Fabulous framed watercolor portrait of an English priest, Rev. John Rees Taylor, 1814-1890. I have a letter from the University of Bristol, dated 18th February 1997. It states: Dear Margaret, Re: John Rees Taylor He was a ten year man or student for the degree of B.D., which I presume he obtained at Lampeter College, although he had a year at Queens College, Ceambridge 1845-1846. He was ordained a deacon in 1837 and a priest in 1838. I would date the painting to this period...
Wonderful vintage framed watercolor by the French artist Barday. Barday was a prolific artist around WWII and his scenes are mostly french. It is signed by Barday and has the title Bonsecours-La Basilique which I believe is located on the Belgium-France border. The frame is a very heavy stained oak wood. There are some scratches to the wood and a few very small stains. It measures 17.5" long and 13" wide. It has a primitive rope on the back for hanging. The colors are very pretty!

It has the name of the artist on the back, but I cannot make out the name. The colors are dark and muted with a soft affect. It has a gilt frame with an inner black border. It measures about 10" x 8.5". This would look particulary good hanging in your kitchen!

The frame measures 11" x 7.5" and has a glass covering. There are some scratches and loss of paint to the frame and the backing has worn away on the back. Just a lovely painting.
