Nice black-figure lekythos depicting a dionysiac scene with two satyrs and two maenads dancing on a hellish ride. Beautiful movement of the incisions of clothing and bodies details. The neck is decorated with two series of black stripes and the shoulder with dots.

Dionysias were celebrations in the honour of Dionysos, the god of the grape harvest, winemaking and wine, of ritual madness and ecstasy...

Very nice attic black figure lekythos decorated with a scene from the mythological Trojan War : Achilles and Ajax in armour playing with dice, Athena in the center calling them to battle. The heroes are represented in helmets and holding their lances, ready for battle but resting.

According the archaeologists, there are around 150 vases depicting this scene. All these vases were dated to the 6th and 5th century B.C., many of them depicting the goddess Athena...

Black figure lekythos decorated with a quadriga driven by an athlete wearing a long chiton in added white. A hoplite is standing next to the chariot, facing an altar. The horses are depicted in a racing position, very nice movement.
The lekythos must have been in a fire, hence the grayish colour.
