Red figure paestan pyxis, 4th century B.C.
Beautiful paestane red-figure pyxis decorated on the lid with two feminin profiles framed with birds - thrushes. The rim of the lid is painted with a frieze of waves and the knob with a large palmette.
The details and decorations are made with white highlights. Rare form, approaching to the more common form of a Lekanis, with two horizontal handles on the bowl.

Greek Art, attibuted to the Asteas-Python workshop, circa 370 B.C.

Comes with a TL test and an export passport.

Height : 5.7 inches (14.5 cm)
Diameter : 6.7 inches (17 cm)

Condition: Very good condition. Intact.
