A very fine and rare pair of 18th century Chinese Qianlong marks and period ruby-back porcelain bowls, well potted and beautifully enameled around the exterior with a rich monochrome ruby enamel, the top rims lightly dressed in pale brown, interior and base glazed white, and inscribed with the "minyao" Qianlong reign marks in underglazed-blue and of the period. (Wooden stands not included)
NOTE : Ruby enamel was innovated during the reign of Yongzheng of the Qing dynasty, known in Chinese as "yanzhihong", literally translated as rouge-red, and was highly praised by Chinese porcelain collectors.

MARK : underglazed-blue six-character Qianlong seal marks on base.
SIZE : approximately 2 3/8" (6 cm) high, 4 3/4" (12 cm) diameter.
CONDITION : both bowls in perfect condition, minor glaze wear only. No chips, no cracks, and no repairs.
