A very fine and superb 18th century Chinese Qianlong mark and period famille-rose enameled porcelain bowl, the small size bowl delicately potted and exquisitely enameled around the exterior with four blue-enameled circular medallions enclosing a gilded "Shou" character, each medallion alternated by a pair of iron-red bats with details picked-out in gold, a band of "ruyi" heads enameled in turquoise below the top rim, a further band of lappets in yellow, iron-red, and turquoise encircling the foot, top rim gilded, interior and base glazed white, underside inscribed with the Qianlong reign mark in underglazed-blue and of the period. COMMENT : Chinese enameled porcelain bowls of the 18th century Qianlong period are rare, especially where the enameling are so precise and immaculate as seen in the present bowl.
DATE : Chinese, Qing Dynasty, mark and period of Qianlong (1736 – 1795).
MARK : underglazed-blue four-character Qianlong seal mark on base.
SIZE : approximately 2" (5 cm) high; 4" (10 cm) diameter.
CONDITION : in absolutely perfect condition with no chips, no cracks, and no repairs.
