A fine and very rare 19th century Chinese Xianfeng mark and period famille-rose porcelain snuff bottle, of rounded slender tapered form, finely painted in famille-rose palette with figures, details picked out in gold, the circular concaved base glazed white and inscribed with the four-character Xianfeng reign mark in iron-red and of the period. With later replacement metal spoon and green bead stopper. (Wooden stand not included)
DATE : Chinese, Qing Dynasty, mark and period of Xianfeng (1851 – 1861).
MARK : iron-red four-character Xianfeng seal mark on base.
SIZE : approximately 2 7/8" (7.3 cm) high including stopper.
CONDITION : porcelain bottle in perfect condition apart from a tiny shallow nib to inside foot rim and minor enamel wear only; replacement stopper loosely fitted. No other damage or repair noted.
