A fine and very rare early 18th century Kangxi period Chinese iron-red and gilt-decorated porcelain 'dragon' vase, the elegant vase nicely potted with an elongated body tapered gently towards the base, rising to a short trumpet neck, finely decorated around the body in shades of iron-red with a large four-clawed dragon grasping a pearl in mouth, all amongst scattered flame scrolls, with gilded detailing, a band of flower motif reserved on key-fret ground encircling the shoulder, interior and base glazed white. DATE : Chinese, early Qing dynasty, Kangxi period (1662 – 1722).
MARK : no base mark or signature.
SIZE : approximately 11 3/8" (29 cm) high.
CONDITION : in perfect condition; minor and appropriate glaze wear only. No damage or repair noted.
