A finest quality pair of Chinese early Republic period famille-rose porcelain cups, delicately potted in semi-eggshell form, each cup superbly painted in traditional Chinese taste with a pair of birds perching on flowering branches, with various other colorful flowers issuing from the base, the delicate artwork is extremely precise with great detailing, interior and base glazed white, each of the base carrying a neatly written six-character mark 'Jiangxi Ciye Gongsi' (Jiangxi Porcelain Company) in underglaze-blue. (Wooden stands are not included)
NOTE : According to historical record, the Jiangxi Porcelain Company was a semi-government company established in the year 1910, situated near Zhushan in Jingdezhen, on a large plot of land adjacent to the former imperial factory. The company's main purpose was to revitalize the moribund porcelain industry of Jingdezhen at the time, and to promote research and experiment, their methods used were traditional, and the quality of their products was the best of all the factories then in existence.
