A very rare antique Chinese famille-noire porcelain snuff bottle, of flattened shield form resting on a flat base, finely decorated on both sides with a dense leafy flower scrolls in famille-rose palette against black-ground, the neck and edges glazed turquoise with delicate classic scrolls, top rim gilded and the base inscribed with the reign mark. Turquoise stopper and metal spoon included. DATE : Chinese, Qing Dynasty, Qianlong seal mark and probably late in the period (1736 - 1795).
MARK : underglazed-blue four character Qianlong seal mark on base.
SIZE : approximately 2 1/4" high without stopper, 2" wide.
CONDITION : excellent condition, minor gilding wear to top rim, a tiny glaze nick to side edge. No cracks and no repairs.
