A fine and rare antique Chinese famille-rose 'millefleurs' porcelain snuff bottle, of classic flattened shield form resting on a flat base, exquisitely enameled on both sides with a dense composite floral pattern of blossoming flowers, the neck and edges decorated with floral scrolls reserved on light-blue ground, top rim with similar scroll work and enameled in turquoise, the base inscribed with the reign mark. Green stone stopper and ivory spoon included.
NOTE : It is very rare to find Chinese porcelain snuff bottles decorated with the 'millefleurs' pattern.
DATE : Chinese, Qing Dynasty, Qianlong seal mark and probably late in the period (1736 - 1795).
MARK : underglazed-blue four character Qianlong seal mark on base.
SIZE : approximately 2 1/4" high without stopper, 2" wide.
CONDITION : perfect condition, production glaze skips around edges and top rim only. No chips, no cracks and no repairs.
