A rare 18th century antique Canton enamel spittoon "Zhadou", the rounded body supported on a low foot and below a wide flared neck, finely decorated with scrolling lotus patterns below a band of ruyi-head lappets encircling the shoulder, the trumpet neck enameled with a band of stiff leaves below a band of 'C' and 'S' scrolls around the rim, all decorated in bright polychrome enamels on a turquoise ground with details picked out in gilt, interior and base further enameled in turquoise.
NOTE : The pair to this spittoon, in perfect condition, is listed separately.
DATE : Chinese, Qing Dynasty, 18th century, Qianlong period (1736 - 1795).
MARK : no base mark or signature.
SIZE : approximately 3 1/4" (8.2 cm) high, 3" (7.5 cm) top diameter.
CONDITION : one large and one small area of body knocks causing dents and enamels chips (see pictures). No other damages or repairs.
