A fine and superb 18th / 19th century antique Chinese white nephrite jade carving of a melon, the pendant of large size, finely carved in the round with a large and a smaller melon hanging below vines, with a small butterfly clinging on below, the stone of fine mutton-fat color with scattered areas of golden-russet tone. (Wooden stand not included)

DATE : Chinese, Qing Dynasty, 18th / 19th Century.

MARK : no mark or signature.

SIZE : approximately 2 1/4" (5.7 cm) x 1 3/8" (3.5 cm).

CONDITION : excellent condition with small natural stone fissures, a pinhead size old nick to the top of one leaf noted for accuracy only. No chips, no cracks, and no repairs.
