A good 19th century Japanese carved bamboo incense holder, the long thin cylindrical bamboo tube finely carved in shallow-relief with a continuous scene of Samurais in battle, the bamboo has aged to an attractive golden color, with fitted ivory cap and end.

DATE : Japanese, Meiji period, late 19th Century.

MARK : no mark or signature.

SIZE : approximately 10 1/2" (26.6 cm) in length.

CONDITION : perfect condition, one fine and minor age split to the bottom part of the tube. No other damage or repairs.
