A fine and rare early 20th century Chinese Republic period famille-rose porcelain vase, the baluster vase finely potted with an inverted compressed mouth and the neck flanked by a pair of stylized "chilong" in café-au-lai glazed forming as handles, body of the vase superbly decorated with the "hehe-erxian" (laughing-twins immortals), one figure holding a stalk of lotus and the other holding a bamboo basket, two iron-red bats hovering above, reverse of the vase plain, interior and underside glazed white, the base bear the Qianlong four-character reign mark in "kaishu" script. (Wooden stand not included).

NOTE : The "hehe-erxian" laughing-twins immortals is a symbol of harmony in Chinese mythology.

DATE : Chinese, early 20th Century, Republic period.

MARK : iron-red four-character mark "Qianlong Yuzhi" (by Imperial command of Qianlong) on base.

SIZE : approximately 11 1/2" (29.2 cm) high.

CONDITION : perfect condition, a small production streak of glaze pooled inside the neck noted for accuracy only (see photo). No chips, no cracks, and no repairs.
