A fine and rare late 19th century antique monogrammed tortoiseshell travelling timepiece clock, of small size rectangular shape supported on four bun-feet, the circular white dial marked "Drew & Sons Piccadilly Circus London. W, French Made", the metal hinges to the back opening also Hall marked "HA" and others (probably London silver marks), the top of the tortoiseshell casing with an indecipherable monogram.
NOTE : This clock was retailed by Drew & Sons, a company based in Piccadilly Circus London from 1887 until 1914 when they moved to premises in Regent Street. The company sold all kinds of travel accessories.
DATE : late 19th Century, circa 1890.
MARK : indecipherable monogram to the top casing, dial marked, and various Hall marks to hinges.
SIZE : approximately 2 7/8" (7.5 cm) tall x 2" (5 cm) x 1 3/4" (4.5 cm).
CONDITION : in excellent condition, outer tortoiseshell casing with minor wear, the clock in good working order. No damages of any kind detected.
