| This stunning example of elegant vintage costume jewelry, is designed by the much sought after, Robert DeMario, who worked as a freelance designer, from 1945, until 1970, when he retired to Florida. He was rumoured to have been aligned with Miriam Haskell's freelance design team, and is known for the producing jewels that were reminiscent of her style. Regarded highly, among collectors of important vintage costume jewelry, his work is as desireable as it is rare. This crowdpleaser is guaranteed to turn heads, whenever you step out, in this dazzling emerald and sapphire colored, faceted crystal, bead necklace. Measuring 11 1/2", the understated single strand of varied sized, round glass and faceted crystal beads, with brass spacers, features a dramatic, 1.25" long, sapphire blue pendant, with a tiny cluster of blue glass beads, attached to the link. The metal fitting, on the large teardrop pendant, show wear and loss of plating, and the brass caps on the faceted beads, also show some wear of the plating on many of the caps. The fish hook clasp is in excellent condition, and is unsigned. The matching crystal 4 strand bracelet, is comprised of identical green and blue colored glass and faceted crystal beads, with the same spacers. The metal is in very good condition, to the naked eye, although under the loop, the metal looks slightly worn. The spacers are still bright, as is the medallion, on the on the clasp. A work of art unto itself, the back of the clasp shows wear and plating loss. However, the front, more than compensates, as the intricately constructed central incised frosted, irridescent glass bead, is surrounded by individual, prong set, emerald and sapphire colored rhinestones. Minutely embossed leaves, fill out, the spectacular spray. A truely dazzling 'vintage creation, with a great designers signature, makes this DeMario demi-parure, a "must have" for those bold enough, to carry it off. Offers are accepted. Thanks! | ||
