Robustly painted in underglaze blue, with floral rim design, drying nets and flying birds in the center. Nice thick glaze drips and iron red can be seen on the back side. Characteristic E-Shino crazing, red scorch marks and tiny pin holes in the glaze can be seen throughout. 8 4/4 inches in diameter and 2 inches high. In perfect condition with typical discoloration to the glazing commensurate with age. Late Edo, early Meiji period. An excellent addition to any tea ceremony utensils collection.
