| The mango tree [mangifera indica] was discovered in Southeast Asia more than 2000 ago and has become a symbol of good fortune, well being and privilege. The mango tree has a limited life span for yielding the best quality fruit and typically was chopped and burnt after this period, however in more recent times the wood is now used in the production of many fine styles of art and décor using the fine skills of Thai artisans and preserving those skills handed down to them and thus providing a valuable source of income for their families. The tree is typically cut and replanted every 20 ? 25 years thus continuing a sustainable cycle that ensures there is no harm to the environment and our company only sources wood from areas which operate to this policy.
