| A damask silk weaving with a pattern of five-clawed dragons among clouds. Circa 1800. Dim.: 57x27cm. The weaving has one selvage. Each dragon stands 18cm high. The ground colour is a brown that reflects in a copper-gold luster. It depends on the reflection of the light whether the dragons appear dark on a light background or the other way around. In general fair condition with a few small holes and some spots showing wear. Mounted on brown silk on foam board (63x33cm) There are two more fragments available of this same weaving: one full-width double selvage ca.74x74cm and one measuring ca. 66x66cm.
