Pierre JEANNERET (Swiss, 1896 - 1967)
Pierre Jeanneret collaborated with his cousin Le Corbusier, born Charles Edouard Jeanneret, on furniture designs, grand urban plans and architectural projects over three decades. Their most famous furniture, designed with Charlotte Perriand circa 1928, incorporated modern simplicity and abandonment of conventional wisdom for economical and industrial furnishings. Other noteworthy accomplishments include the partnership’s first place design of the League of Nations building in 1926, and the design of a massive complex for the capital center of Punjab, Chandigarh, India, for which he spent 14 years in India.
