Araki's entire oeuvre of work consists of an accumulation of thousands upon thousands of photographs, revealing a near obsession with photographing daily life--life that, for Araki, does not exclude sex from the list of possible subject matter. He is famous for the rawness of his work and yet enjoys near superstar status in his home country of Japan.
