Rare BIEDERER classic RPPC | France 1930s
Woman in chains, c. 1930

RPPC Real picture postcard, Very Fine
3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches (8.8 x 13.9 cm.)
Provenance: Alexandre Dupouy Collection, France

Literature: Velvet Eden: The Richard Merkin Collection of Erotic Photography, Bell Publishing, New York, 1985, pg.56, for identical image.

Biederer, who’s first name is still unknown, was enlisted by the Yva Richard company in Paris to photograph their fetish lingerie line. In the beginning Biederer signed his photographs, but when he began specializing in domination scenes, he signed the pictures only with a B, and then he stop signing altogether. Interestingly enough, the origins of modern fetish apparel, can be traced back to these early "slaves of fashion".
