| Wow, what a darling item. I love the box almost as much as hourglass! I should clarify that it's proper to call these "hourglasses" even when they're small. In great condition as if it's been in a grandma's drawer for decades. The corners on the box are slightly rubbed off. The box has silver paint and it has not worn off at all -- it's really quite lovely and charming. Framed rhyming sayings were popular during this period and they've become extremely pricey and collectible if in mint condition. Several companies made them. I have a small one hanging in my home that says, "A Buzza Motto" and dated 1925 right below the verse. I love thinking that in this era, both eggs and telephone calls needed to be timed. Phone calls were still unique and pricey things. The painted, carved wood holder that encases the timer is also charming. This would be a very sweet gift for someone who loves to cook. It would also make a unique hostess or shower gift. Dimensions: Hour Glass is 3 5/16 inches tall. | ||
