I think I am reading the kanji on the box correctly. I will try to find out which Shuho made this. I am pretty sure it is not Shuho Takasaki. Depicts bamboo, beautifully done, excellent condition, with signed box.

These officer's bladed sword sticks were used from pre-revolutionary war through the war of 1812 as a means of back up defense when one ought to have been unarmed. This blade type was introduced in 1796 replacing the earlier 1786 pattern. It was similar to its predecessor in having a spadroon style form ( three hollow surfaces coming to a slender point ). Excellent antique condition with some black rust and a fine patina overall. 35 1/2" long overall, blade is 27" long...
