This is a really beautiful Ido Hagi chawan with excellent form and fine glaze and firing. Hayashi Koyo is not a well known potter, but if this is a typical example of his work, he should be. The third image shows the colors best. It is as nice a tea bowl as I have seen ( even those by the Miwa family ). About 4 3/4" in diameter, excellent condition, signed box.

This is a rare item indeed. Nanyin Maymuru 1918-1969 was one of the early documented bark painters in Australia. He was a Manggalilli Yirrkala from Northeast Arnhem land and his paintings sell for thousands of dollars. His brother was Narritjin Maymuru who was one of the leading Australian painters of all time. This didg was collected in 1964 in Arnhemland. It was made for the instruction of young players who might later play in ceremonies...

This is a factory made Irabo chawan in paper box, with original papers, never used, perfect condition, excellent for tea ceremony. Irabo is derived from " ira-ira " which means rough or irritating, and was a ware favored by the Samurai for their tea. About 5 3/8" diameter. The color is closest in the first picture.

I have tried, but can not decipher the inscription on the box. Looks like Hayashi someone, not Kotaro or Shotaro, just do not know. Still a nice one of a kind chawan about 5" in diameter and 3 1/2" tall. Artist marked, with fukusa and signed box.

I paid about $750 for this fine guinomi several years ago, and Harada's star has continued to rise. He is known for his wild and large Bizen work. This guinomi is larger than average ( about 3+" tall ) and has his signature shape and wonderful firing. A great cup for drinking, Kampai! Excellent condition, signed box.

I have looked everywhere I know for the hallmark on this bracelet, looks like a bird, but not any that I can find in any of my references. Still the piece is really well done and reminds one of the Lawrence Saufkie bracelets with the same theme. The background is stippled which is an older style, so I am dating this to pre-1980. Excellent condition, 5 1/2" PLUS a 1 3/8" gap, easily adjusted. About 1+" wide.

The experssion "cuter than a bug's ear" comes to mind ( what does a bug's ear look like ? ). These are reall sweet little guys, probably from the 1950's or 1960's. Screw backs, marked sterling. Excellent condition, about 5/8" long.
