This beautiful bracelet is not signed, but is almost certainly the work of Ellen Quandelacy. She is the mother of Dickey who worked with Amy his wife. Ellen is better known for her fetish carvings, but she did make wonderful delicate jewelry in this style, the stamped " rain drops " are also her style. About 5 1/4" PLUS a 1 3/8" gap so will fit a 6 1/2" to 7 " wrist, can be carefully adjusted. Shell is gold lip pearl. Excellent condition...

These are really impressive. Kee Joe Benally won many awards at Gallup, Santa Fe and elsewhere, worked as a bench smith for Tanner for a while, and started in the 1950's, I think he worked with Kenneth Begay for a while. He is very well known for his variety, especially jewelry that resembles leather work. He is listed on page 82 of G. Schaff's book on 1200 artists. These ear rings are 6" long and 1 " wide, so very large but light, really make a statement...

This is the nicest Dine' butterfly pin I have ever come across, that is why I bought it, I paid a fair amount for it too. It is made from cast sheets of silver ( probably coin, but not tested )and is of significant age, 1940 or earlier, probably about 1930. Large 2 3/4" by 1 3/4", and beautifully made, great stamping, nice patina and just enough wear to show its age. Unmarked. Turquoise is nice too, small crack on the edge of one stone, but solid...

This is a rare item, very early work by Allen Pooyama ( also Pooyaouma ) from the late 1940's, before overlay work was done much. Allen Pooyama learned from his father, and worked until recently, he is widely recognized along with Paul Saufkie, Fred Kabotie, Morris Robinson, Homer Vance and others as one of the early great Hopi jewelers. About 7/8" log by 5/8" wide, clip on back, Hallmarked with his corn ear mark, silver and nice turquoise...

I have seen a lot of " Fred Harvey " items from the 1940's to the 1960's advertised as " 1920's or 1930's " Not the case here. This is the real deal. A fine old piece that is definitely before 1930 and may even be from the teens! Everything is hand made, the eagle ( or possibly thunderbird )is hand hammered ( probably coin silver ) with extensive filing and hammer marks on the back, nice wear and patina and great old stamping. The bezels are smooth hand made and fairly tall. Even the pin, ...

Alonzo Hustito is much better known as a fetish carver, but he did make fine jewelry and is credited with inventing the knifewing and rainbow man mosaic motif. He worked from 1bout 1930 to about 1980. This silver and turquoise bolo tie is probably form the 1970's and is a rare signed piece by him. This shalako is similar to the ones made by Helen Long a Navajo smith from the same period. Beautifully detailed with hand stamping, and twist work. A rare and fine collector's piece. About 3 1...

This item was collected in the field in the 1970's by an Australian patrol officer. It shows considerable age, so it was well used before being collected. Note the insect damage on the front, still has some remains of pigment. Very large and heavy, about 43" tall. Iatmul people, middle Sepik river Papua New Guinea. Great tribal item. ...

Beautiful overlay pin depicting a roadrunner one of Mr Yazzie's signature designs. About 1 1/4" in diameter, marked with dipper hallmark, most likely dates form the 1960's or 50's. Excellent vintage condition. While overlay work was first attributed to Hopi smiths, Willie Yazzie Sr. began doing it very early also in the 1950's, and is well known for his high quality work. PS. I have a belt buckle with an almost identical design that I will list soon, please ask if interested. ...

These are a super collector's item. Delmar Lamson only made jewelry for 4 years, he was trained at the Guild and started working in 1985. Unfortunately, he passed away in 1988, so his work is very hard to find. These wonderful butterfly earrings are made of sterling and signed with his hallmark and the guild mark, they also come with the original Hopi Arts and Crafts - Silvercraft Guild display card. about 3/4" diameter, clip on, excellent vintage condition. ...

Michael Bird-Romero is one of the best known as respected Native American jewelers working. He started in 1972 and has won many awards and is in many museum collections. His work is always beautifully finished, and never mass produced. He makes everything by hand -- even his own ingot silver. This beautiful pin is 1 5/16" wide at the rattle snake ( which is 14K gold cast ) and 4 1/2" long. The snake's expression is very sweet. Hallmarked by the artist. ...

These nice earrings are a Frank Patiana design, they have been converted from post to screw back in the distant past and it is very possible that the screw backs covered up the Patiana hallmark ( see images ). They were originally purchased in Arizona marked sterling on the screwbacks and with an "F" on the back of the ear rings. Nice turquoise. About 1 1/4" long nice vintage condition. ...
