| Carved from hard dense wood, this large ( 28" long ) shield has an unusual design. It was collected in the area of Roebourne in Pilbarra in the 1950's. It is finely incised on teh back and the front ( incising is filled with ochre and lime on the front so difficult to see in pictures ), There is minor damage and wear but overall very good condition, fine patina especially on the back indicating many decades of use. | ||
