Matsui Tomoyuki Bizen Japanese pottery vase, with box
$447.00 sold thank you

Matsui Tomoyuki is a " prefectural cultural treasure " of Okayama, and has been considered for living national treasure. He has been making Bizen ware since about 1960 and has won many awards. This beautiful vase is " crane's neck " style with a delicate thin neck, very difficult to do well and rare. The firing is also nice it shows fine ash deposit and gomae surfaces and beautiful rich firing color. It is about 9" tall perfect condition with a signed box. I purchased this early in my collecting in about 1999 or so from Robert Yellin at japanesepottery.com.
