| This a a beautiful example of art and function. A used club about 33" long from the Central Desert. Has very nice concentric circles carved into the wood similar to those found on churinga ( I believe these are water symbols ) and bands painted with lime -- a rare thing for a club. Fine ochre patina covers the surface, note the rather large chip on the handle end, used after the chip was made as indicated by wear. Reportedly collected in the late 1940's or early 1950's by an engineer working in mineral exploration. This is a rare and fine item, a must have for the collector. Late 19th or early 20th century. | ||
