Vase of outstanding provenance, acquired in 1962, well before the UNESCO World Heritage Convention of 1972.
Black glazed sieve guttus with a raised molding around the perforated sieve at centre. Pairwise cannelures on the cushion-shaped body. The ring handle placed at right angles to the straight spout. Ring foot reserved underneath.

Tall bottle with flat base, piriform body, and long cylindrical neck ending in a flared rim.
Unguentaria are small ceramic or glass bottles frequently found in burial contexts. Their most common use was probably as a container for oil. The unguentarium is sometimes referred to as lacrimarium (tear-container) or balsamarium (balsam-container). All three terms reflect different assumptions about their use.

Black-glazed Apulian plate of shallow floor with three stamped palmettes at center. The flat lip, slightly curved on top.
Standing on a low foot in two degrees. Faint imprint from the foot of another dish on the floor.
Covered with a fine black glaze. The expert modeling and the application of a glossy black glaze suggest that the plate was inspired by metal examples.

Rare Attic red-figure cup-skyphos with draped young men.
The athletes on the left wear the spiked wreath for the winner of the torch-race and stand opposite draped youths.
Some hold a strigilis in their outstretched right hand.
The scene represents a ceremony performed after winning the torch-race.
In this type of race, a torch was passed in a relay. The goal was to finish the race with the torch still burning...

Intriguing Daunian kyathos featuring an incurving shallow bowl and a handle that widens towards the top to form stylized horns, a tiny animal head inserted in between.
The cream-hued surface shows a delicate linear decoration, both on the handle and on the outside of the bowl.

Daunian kyathos with wide flat floor and slightly flared rim, the tall strap handle attached at one end.
Decorated (inside and out) with bands and linear patterns in umber and brick red on a buff ground. The floor enhanced with a central flower device.
The floor of vase suffered a shrinkage crack during the drying process. The kyathos was nevertheless fired and reserved for ritual/funerary purposes.

High-quality Greek black-glazed skyphos with straight walls and two horizontal handles. The ring foot is skillfully modeled with carefully turned inside.
The quality of the pottery shows the treatment of standard Attic products. J. W. Hayes refers to these as Atticizing wares, cf. pp. 43 in: Greek and Italian Black-Gloss Wares and Related Wares in the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto 1984.
