| A black-glazed lekanis dish on a stemmed foot. The bowl with opposing loop handled, the rim fitted with a groove for a lid. Ceramic. Apulian, 4th century BC. D. 14 cm (5.5 in), W. over handles 19.8 cm (7.8 in). Intact, except for a chip out of the rim. Glaze turned to red in places. Mark of another vessel’s foot on the shallow floor. Superb condition.
