Etruscan Single Handled Kyathos, 750-650 BC

Etruscan kyathos of shallow form showing ridges and grooves on the inward sloping rim. Two vertical ribs down the rim at some distance from the notched handle. Small, slightly incurved base. For a related bowl cf. lot no. 192 in: Ines Jucker. Italy of the Etruscans. Mainz 1991. Ceramic, Impasto ware. Etruscan, 750-650 BC. H. to handle 9.2 cm (3.6 in), D. 14.7 cm (5.8 in). Reddish brown impasto with carefully smoothed surface. Outside of the handle chipped. One shard out of the handle area mended. Root marks in places. Swiss private collection (data will be provided to the buyer)
