| The handsome face is rendered with half open eyes, a straight fine nose and well defined purse lips. A raised urna is positioned above the arched eyebrows. The wavy hair is parted over the forehead and topped by a richly ornamented crown. The head burst off from a larger statue. Grey schist. Gandhara, 2nd/3rd century AD. H. 14 cm (5.5 in), H. with stand 18.6 cm (7.3 in). Fragmentary. Minor hit on the tip of the nose, otherwise a very fine and precious example.
