Sandstone sunk relief with a partly preserved hieroglyphic sequence.
The text runs from right to left and reads Asjr Hrj-jb StAyt – Osiris who is in the Hidden (i.e. in the Underworld).
Siliceous sandstone was much used during the New Kingdom, mainly under Amenhotep III. The material was often usurped during the reign of Ramses II.
Cf. D. Klemm, R. Klemm and L. Steclaci. "Die pharaonischen Steinbrüche des Silifizierten Sandsteins in Ägypten und die Herkunft der Memnon-Kolosse", in: MDAIK 40 (Mitteilungen des Deutschen Archäologischen Instituts, Abteilung Kairo), pp. 207-220. Mainz, 1984.
