Etruscan bucchero ware kantharos of canonical shape with twin high-swung strap handles and a pedestal foot. A dented ridge at the join to the straight wall. A couple of tiny grooves along the rim.
This is a kantharos of the standard coastal type known from workshops in the Etruscan cities of Vulci and Cerveteri; Rasmussen’s type 3e.

H. handle 12.2 cm (4.8 in),H. rim 7.7 cm (3 in),D. 12.5 cm (4.9 in).
Good quality, carefully polished surface. Repaired from several original pieces; no missing shards. Soil deposits and root marks in places.
