Figural bronze handle in the shape of two stylized dolphins meeting at a central knob. The dolphins show vestigial fins on the sides and swung fin tails of almost floral shape.
The handle was attached to a wooden box. Hammered bronze wires clasp the handle. They were inserted through the wooden board and bent behind. Flat washers of square perforation for fixation on the front.
Similar examples were offered at Hirsch Auktionen, Munich (Germany), lots 741-743, September 2009 sale.
