Formerly in the ancient art gallery Antikenkabinett Bernd Gackst├Ątter, the item was originally catalogued as a mace head, an assumption which is presumably wrong.
The abrasion on the outer sides of the central hole may have been caused by a rope which was driven through. Much like as on loom weights or weights for fishing nets.
Brown-coated, coarse terracotta
Mediterranean area, of undetermined age, although old.
D. 8.4 cm (3.3 in)
Intact. Minor wear close to the hole at center.
