A black-glazed lekanis dish on a stemmed foot. The bowl with opposing loop handled, the rim fitted with a groove for a lid.
Apulian, 4th century BC
D. 14 cm (5.5 in), W. over handles 19.8 cm (7.8 in)
Intact, except for a chip out of the rim. Glaze turned to red in places. Mark of another vessel’s foot on the shallow floor. Superb condition.
Swiss private collection, by descent. In family possession before 1968.
