| Egyptian Roman female head with a high melon-like hairdo with scrolled coils of hair on top. Well preserved slender face with protruding eyes, arched eyebrows, full lips and pierced earlobes. For a head from the same mold in the Louvre cf. item no. 710 in F. Dunand. Catalogue des terres cuites gréco-romaines d’Egypte. Paris 1990. Egyptian-Roman, late 2nd century AD. H. 7.8 cm (3.07 in). H. with stand 13.5 cm (5.3 in). Broken at the neck level. Remains of the original pigment. Bridge of the nose flattened by a hit. Ex Swiss art market. | ||
