| Greek marble head of Herakles with a short bulged out forehead and almond-shaped eyes recessed to bear inlays. The full lips framed by a moustache. Small ears stick out the close-cropped hairdo. The beard with voluminous curls. Greek, Eastern Mediterranean, 2nd/1st century BC. H. 8.1 cm (3.2 in), H. with stand 14.9 cm (5.85 in). Broken below the heavy neck. Nose chipped. White marble with reddish patina and black deposits. Surface worn in places. Swiss art market. | ||
