The lion’s paws knotted at the chest. The missing right hand holding the club, the outstretched arm with remains of a bow. Early Hellenistic example with classical reminiscences. Related to the so-called Trieste Group. Bronze. Etruscan, late 4th/3rd century BC. H. 10.9 cm (4.3 in), H. with stand 17.8 cm (7 in). Both feet and right fist missing. Mineralized pale green patina, with darker areas. The lion skin with carefully incised fur. Swiss art market.
