| Egyptian female head with slender face and an elaborate hairdo showing horizontally arranged curls topped by a coil of hair. The hair at the back of the head is braided. Similar arrangements of the hairdo are common during the Trajanic period. For a related head in the Louvre cf. item no. 712 in F. Dunand. Catalogue des terres cuites gréco-romaines d’Egypte. Paris 1990. Terracotta. Egyptian, Roman Period, ca. 100-150 AD. H. 7.4 cm (2.9 in), H. with stand 10.6 (10.6 in). Broken at the neck level. Left side of the face worn.
