Rare Wayang Klitik puppet from Java. Genuine old Klitik puppets are much rarer than the better know Leather puppets know as Wayang Kulit or the three dimensional Wayang Golek. This village puppet has been repainted at least once and has a repair on the arms as can be seen in the photos.

Large well cast South Indian Hindu temple bronze of an unidentified deity, avatar or guru. The bronze is cast in three separate parts; base, figure and aureole. The bronze probably dates to the late 19th to early 20th century and measures 12 ½ inches in height, the square base measuring 5 ½ x 5 ½, the piece has a fine coffee colored patina. There is a soldered repair to the top of the aureole visible in the pictures.

Two very animated Tibetan bronzes of dancing animal headed Daka (male Dakini) with their Prajna’s (Wisdoms), probably dating to the late 19th century and though different clearly originate from the same cultural matrix. The males hold a Vajra and ghanta (bell) and the females skull cup and chopper. The bronzes measure just over 5 and 5 ½ inches respectively.

Exquisite little oil lamp in the form of an Indian goddess holding a lamp known as DEEP-LAKSHMI. It measures only 2 ¾ inches in height and the detail in the casting is wonderful, beautiful patina with signs of use. Probably 18th or 19th century
