Duan Inkstone with Imperial MK
This is an old piece of Duan inkstone , which is skillfully and artistically carved on a naturally shaped stone . Besides a yellowish "eye ", we can find "gold and silver threads" as well as some "Fish brain jelly " . On the bottom side ,there is an inscribed mark (Yang Xin Dian Yu Shang) , meaning "Sole-cultivating Hall,Imperial Appreciation". The Sole-cultivating Hall is located in the Forbidden City , where a few emperors and the Empress-dowager CiXi used to live and work. Measures (appr.): 5.5 X 4.5 X 2.5 Inches
