Signed Bamboo brush pot of 17-18C.
This is a very rare double-column bamboo brush pot . Two pieces of poems are carved seperately on each column , lotus root and chrysanthemum flowers are also carved nicely, which together with the bamboo , are sympbolic figures of high morality that the scholars pursued .It is signed with the literal name of the artist which reads "zhu shan zhu ren"(Host of the bamboo mountain) , while the carved seals reads "zhu ren " (host)and "pian shi" (piece of stone). The hazelnut color and the double-column style suggest this could be dated to 17-18C , early Qing dynasty. Richly patinated , with some tiny worm-bite holds . Height 6 1/4 inches ; Diameters: 4 X 3 3/4 inches
