A beautiful miniature on ivory of a young woman circa 1840 - 1850. The 1 3/4 by 1 3/8 inch oval portrait is in a hinged gold locket with a 7 ½ inch chain. The locket has beveled glass on both sides and there is no backing on the ivory.
