LG Egyptian New Kingdom Sarcophagus Panel!
Relics of the Nile is very pleased to present this incredible large Egyptian sarcophagus panel depicting two Egyptian gods in profile. The panel stands a truly impressive 23.75" in height and 6" in width! A truly superb display. The panel features two of the Sons of Horus. The Sons of Horus were the guardians of the viscera and their depictions were generally placed over the midsection of the sarcophagus. Depicted on this panel are the sons, Imsety and Duamutef. Imsety was the human-headed son and Duamutef was the jackal-headed son (Very similar of the mummification god, Anubis). These two sons originally faced their counterparts, Quebseneuf and Hapi. The two remaining sons is also available. Very rare and in tremendous condition. Egypt. New Kingdom, Ca. 1,300 B.C.
